Ministering to the Lord

(Part 2 of 2)

Praise, worship and communion are ways to minister to the Lord.  All three of these ways are biblical and are to be done on a daily basis.  We praise God for what He has done then we can worship Him for who He is and only then can we move into communion with God.

We must minister to the Lord first privately because if we don’t we will not know how to minister to others publicly.  The Holy Spirit will come in if we allow Him to and fill us up with Himself.  It is called the baptism of the Holy Ghost.  The baptism of the Holy Spirit gives us a heavenly language to communicate with our God because our human language is limited and unable to express and give Him all the honor and glory He is due.

Without the Holy Spirit interceding for us we could only worship the through our soulish man. Our soulish man is limited so the Holy Spirit intercedes on our behalf.     In this world we seek and want so many things the first person we are to seek is the Lord His Word says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matt. 6:33).  Our purpose in life is not to seek after power, authority, things or people seek God first and there is no good thing He will withhold from us. God is a jealous God and no one or anything should be before Him.  He longs to have true fellowship with us, keeping Him first even when we get up in the morning He is to be the first thing on our minds, during the day and the last thing at night our first and last priority spending time and pleasing the Lord.

There are many benefits of ministering to the Lord.   The first benefit is the personal relationship that one develops when ministering to the Lord. The Lord begins to reveal Himself and unfold His truths. He gives us true revelation. He reveals how holy, righteous, glorious and marvelous He truly is. You cannot help but stand in awe of Him. When relationship is developed He will release His power and anointing that empower and enable the believer to go forth in His power and His authority.  Through relationship the Lord also reveals His purpose, plan, and will for our lives.

Another benefit of ministering to the Lord is that He brings unity to the body of Christ as we concentrate on Him and not on our differences. When we are brought closer to Him and one another the power of God begins to move and souls are saved, the captive are set free, deliverance and diseases and infirmities are healed.  These are all benefits of ministering to the Lord.  The Lord never lets us out do Him if we worship Him in spirit and truth He will not hold back anything from us.

Ministering to Lord privately prepares you for public ministry.  Only when you praise, worship and commune with the Lord can you be powerful in public. When we are in the presence of the Lord He lets everyone know by shining through you and through and they can only see Him. As we open our mouths He speaks for us and the Holy Spirit will stand up in us and show out on the Lords behalf because He sees Himself.   Just like when Moses went up into the mountain to receive the Ten Commandments he had to wear a veil to come in the presence of the people because the glory of the Lord was so strong on him.  The fact that he had to have a veil over his face to speak to the people was evidence that he had been in the presence of the Lord.

That’s how it should be with us.   When we learn that our first ministry is to the Lord we will not have problem preparing for ministry by ministering to the Lord first. Ministering to the Lord first means we are leaning on the Lord and not ourselves.  God prepares us while we are with Him each day so we will be ready for the public.  He gives us what to say and how to say it and when to say it. God will give us His power and anointing that we need to go forth and do what He will have us to do.
