What is Addiction?
Addition is a compelling, destructive involvement that – because it detracts from other areas of people’s lives – forces them to rely with greater exclusivity on the addictive experience they get from the involvement, whether with drugs or anything else.
- Being abnormally tolerant to and dependent on something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming (especially alcohol or narcotic drugs, but not limited to)
- An abnormally strong craving
